About Prometheus dis.order
Prometheus is Frankenstein, he created, so the myth goes, the first human beings: flawed pre-series models. Beethoven's ballet music, itself a compositional experiment, illustrates these awkward attempts to walk. For BTHVN 2020, the Tonhalle brings the titan Prometheus to the centre and puts him on the couch. In a spectacular staging, the real reason for the failure becomes clear. And Beethoven's music takes on a new dimension as a rollercoaster ride through a world in turmoil.
